Spend a day in our Dartmoor workshop and discover what goes into making a pair of shoes by hand. You’ll gain an insight into the traditional techniques used to make our shoes, work with beautiful leather, and take part in key stages of the making process while seeing others demonstrated along the way. From pattern cutting and stitching to lasting and finishing, you’ll experience the journey from leather to finished shoe, learning about the materials, tools and stages involved.

Our sessions are relaxed, informal and suitable for complete beginners, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn more about the craft. Once your shoes are complete, we’ll finish them in the workshop and post them to you.

We run our shoemaking experiences in pairs, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere. You can book as a pair, with a friend, or reserve a place for yourself.

All of the materials to make the shoes are provided, with a choice of colours and styles on the day.

Aprons are provided to protect your clothes, but do bear in mind you will be working with glue and sharp tools so please don't wear your favourite things. The workshop can get a bit cold in the winter, so you might want to bring some warmer layers too!

Our shoemaking workshop starts at 9.30am and finishes around 5pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Lunch is not provided but there are shops and cafes nearby.

Our one-day shoemaking workshop is £375 per person, which includes a day in the workshop, beautiful leather, and your own handmade shoes.
